Manager | Creating a New Remote Site

Overview

The Remote sites set of features allows administrators to easily set up multiple instances of DryvIQ at distributed locations and configure/monitor them from a single centrally managed console.

Verify the Executable Location

Before you can create the remote site, you must verify that the DryvIQ installation executable is in the proper location in order for the application to create the remote sites package. Review the appSettings.json file on the machine that will be creating the remote site. The packageDirectory indicates where the DryvIQ installation executable need to be located. If the directory does not contain the installation executable, the ZIP package will not be created, and only an appSettings.json file will download.

Create the Remote Site

  1. Select Remote Sites from the menu. .
  2. Select Create remote site on the Remote Sites page.

  3. Enter a name for the remote site you are creating and select Done.

  4. The new remote site displays on the Remote Sites page.

  5. Select Download to download the installation package for the remote site.
  6. A ZIP file will download to the computer. It will contain three files: a DryvIQ installation executable, an appSettings.json file, and an appSettings.options file.
  7. Copy this ZIP file to the remote site server and extract the files.

  8. Follow the basic DryvIQ installation instructions.

  9. Once the installation is complete, the remote site tile should ready, "Healthy" as the status.

Important

If only a appSettings.json file downloads, the installation executable is not in the location listed in the packageDirectory setting in the appSettings.json file on this machine. You can still complete the remote set installation by copying the downloaded appSettings.json file and the DryvIQ installation executable to the same directory on the remote site server. As long as the file and executable are in the same directory when you run the installation, the remote site installation will be successful.

Other Remote Site Options

  • Rename: Rename the remote site.
  • Download: Download the remote site installation package for this site.
  • Disconnect: Disconnect this remote site.
